Move N Groove Kids is a creative movement program for children ages 2 to 7 years. Each episode is based on a curriculum developed by Deborah Damast a leading dance education expert who holds a faculty position at NYU s Steinhardt School of Education as Master Teacher of Dance Education. Deborah s dance curriculum and classes are highly acclaimed by teachers, parents, administrators at private studios, daycare centers and pre-schools.

Move N Groove features live-action classroom-style learning with entertaining text and character animations that no kid can resist! Move N Groove Kids is designed to help children develop self-confidence, encourage healthy living and promote problem-solving skills. The program encourages team work, bridges language barriers and teaches vocabulary. Move N Groove encourages aesthetic appreciation and individual creative expression. And of course, it gives them plenty of opportunity to dance and jump around - just what kids love doing best.

Move N Groove Kids is a dance and exercise video that teachers and parents can use both in-class and at home. Kids follow along to a comprehensive dance and fitness routine that introduces them to various types of movements while encouraging them to explore new and different ways of moving their own bodies.

Each video starts off with a warm up, then moves into locomotor and non-locomotor movements. Kids then follow a series of aerobic dance exercises, and conclude with a relaxing cool-down segment. Deb is currently an adjunct professor in NYU s Dance Education Department and has been teaching Creative Movement in private studios, schools, and childrens programs in the New York area for the past ten years. Move N Groove Kids captures her highly acclaimed teaching practice on a video that s fun, engaging, and perfect for every child.

The unique creative movement foundation of the Move N Groove Kids programs helps children develop in several ways. The interpretive exercises and fluid teaching style encourage individual creative expression, cognitive development, and self-confidence. The original music, written by acclaimed composers Cary Brown and Dan Schorr, together with the dance and creative movements introduced in the video, will broaden your child s aesthetic sensibility, and improve their flexibility and motor skills. Silly Willy and Silly Jilly dressed in Mary Poppins-meets-the Music Man regalia lead the singing kids through Silly Dillyville in this Kidsongs outing. The 11 tunes include standards like "The Name Game" (the song that rhymes every name with "bo-banna, fe-fi-fo-fanna..."), "Down by the Bay," "Michael Finnegan" and "Purple People Eater." Each song features characters that introduce the songs. So Billy Daffidilly sings about his eccentric mother, Professor Quackenbush describes the one-eyed violet beast (who also makes an appearance), and Farmer Phil shows off his straw-hatted iguana, a hen pulling a cart, and an owl that performs no discernable tricks in "Fiddle-I-Fee." The whole "town" joins in for the "Do the Silly Willy" finale, featuring Willy rapping in his candy-striped jacket. This 27-minute program was shot at Universal Studios in North Hollywood, California, and a tour of its attractions rolls under the credits. Aimed at ages 1 to 8. --Kimberly Heinrichs
